Adding DECORATE things to the thing menu

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I was wondering how you make DECORATE things appear as selectable in DB2. I have loaded various new things to a WAD that i have snagged from realm667. I see that some of them appear as selectable in DB2 but most don't. The 'severed heads' pack can be, and I checked its decorate, but didn't see anything that seemed out of the ordinary. Thanks!

Actor Whatever : Blah 1337
{
//$Category Some_Category
 blah blah blah
}
This actor will appear in the category "Some Category" in DB1 and DB2's menus.

Actor Whatever : Blah 1337
{
 blah blah blah
}
This actor, on the other hand, will not. Feel free to try to extrapolate and guess why. Instead, it'll be relegated to a generic "Decorate" menu at the end.
Actor Whatever : Blah
{
//$Category Some_Category
 blah blah blah
}
Now this actor is tricky. It will not appear anywhere -- neither in Some Category, nor in DECORATE. Again, feel free to try to understand why.

(Hint: the important parts are not in a "blah" part.)

I can't get it to work. I've tried it with this

actor soundbarrel 171
{
//$Category Obstacles
blah blah blah (the decorate stuff)
}

but when I load the resource with my WAD it doesn't show up.

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. DB2 only reads the first DECORATE you have loaded in any given WAD, eh?
