Good sound editing tool.

Recommended Posts

Am looking for a good sound editing tool. I have a big bunch of cool freeware generator/computer wav's, and I want to cut short sections from those .wav's to use for ambient sound effects in my doom levels.

Any suggestions on a good (freeware or otherwise) program for editing/chopping up sound files like this?

Thanks guys.

I rarely do any sort of sound editing, but when I do, I use Audacity. Seems to work pretty well, especially given it's free. Maybe it'll work out well enough for you since you just need to chop up some .wav files.

Yeah, Audacity is probably your best bet if you just need to chop wav's up.

Grrr. My compy is currently having issues: (Read: is dead, dead, f*#^$&ing dead), so I can't actually check this out right now.

But rest assured I will get to it.

Thanks for the replies guys. Appreciated :)
