Actually, no. I have no plans whatsoever to work on the low level rendering code in the foreseeable future.

This is nothing 'you do to the texture'. Of course I could enable alpha blending for all mid textures but it'd cause other problems.

But low level shaders already present in gzdoom? Fog, water,light etc. Yo always can make switch with warning it beta (experiemental) etc.
And blend animations already present in gzdoom look at help section how it change picture to picture fade effect -> in Doom -> help and heretic -> info. Hexen too

Nothing of that has any meaning here. Yes, shaders exist but to implement a completely new feature a lot more groundwork is needed and to be honest I neither have the time nor the motivation to work with this stuff.

Also, the help screens are no blended animation, just a very simple translucent blit. Nothing of that's there would be usable for animations.
