Recommended software for a new modder

I have already gotten the hang of Doom Builder 2, but I was wondering if there is any software that experienced modders would recommend. I have XWE, WhackEd, DecX 2, and I am planning to get GIMP. Tutorials would be helpful, too.

You pretty much have the entire arsenal of editing software.

I've learned a lot from YouTube videos. There are a lot of good video tutorials. I can learn more watching then reading.

I'd recommend switching to SLADE3 instead of XWE. The latter's "save" system is very prone to corrupting wad files or modifying ones you don't mean to (including IWADS).

... and for that very reason IWADS should be marked Read Only...

For that reaason XWE should best be dumped into the deepest abysses of hell. That program's dangerous.

I make a backup of the wad I edit everytime I load it unless I know exactly what I'm doing lol!

I'll be downloading SLADE3 then

I've finally gotten Slade 3 to work on my computer, and I'm dropping XWE. But I need help on using it.
