it's cool

He's kinda creepy with that hooded cape and metal mask. An ominous villian.

I always imagined him to have a deep bellowing voice but a certain movie ruined that for me.

It has non linear levels, well balanced weapons, and is easy to make levels for.

Its fast pace. Lack of realism. Just a shooting gallery game.

Because it was 10x better than Wolfenstein.

Work of art - from head to toe.

Because it's over the top violent.

We like it as it jumpstarted a Genre. And because it "POSSIBLY" inspried the Columbine thing... um... wait...

Nahhh, I'd put them on the same footing as eachother. Both DooM and Unreal are atmospheric masterpieces IMO.

Haha, personally for me, having arguments on Doomworld and then reading my post the next day is making my IQ drop enough as it. :P

It's got excellent action, a virtual infinitude of maps to play, and every map is an exercise in problem-solving, where the majority of the problems are trying to solve you.

Because people still make threads like this about it.

Because it was a technical innovation when it was released. And because it crashed a computer server when it was released.

LOL I wonder about that server. Could it only handle like 50 people on it? And the file was huge at the time.

Chances are it didn't crash the server, but went past the server's bandwidth limit of like 100 MB back then.
