5 Minute speedmaps

Hi all,

I was talking to one of my friends about speedmaps who plays Q3 and notified me we are taking way too long on our speedmaps. So Here's a challenge: What can you make in 5 minutes?

Here's my attempt, next time I should remember to include a bit more ammo, but you can at least cause a bit of infighting.

Have some crap that took 10 minutes because I watched megas xlr all last night. Not including playtesting. Also has coop and dm starts, not that it'd make that great of a dm map considering there's a bfg you can get by bumping the exit and there aren't enough monsters to justify a coop. Made for boom, on map 21, uses a midi for the nightmare boss fight from metroid fusion. Meh.

come on doomhero, stop speedmapping and upload a hardworked and inspired map.

Dang, that is a tight time frame. I had to play a 5-minute song just to make sure I was within the time limit.

Here's my 5-minute speedmap.

Now here's an actual map. Took me 63 minutes. While that's ten times as bad as the deadline, it's possibly my fastest map ever. I guess I should start mapping with the idea that I just have 5 minutes during the next regular speedmapping session, this way I'll actually complete something within the required limits.

Edit: demo for AB's map. Fun level, reminescent of ALLALONE's map02.

Edit 2: I like AB's and Philnemba's maps the most. I find valkiriforce's to be the most impressive considering the time limit.

Sad part is that it actually took me almost fifteen minutes, testing included- and the switches still don't work for some bizarre reason.

For some stupid reason stitch vertices was OFF and even though I tried to fix it the node builder crashed, adding an extra minute :P

I also took a minute to place some textures and health, it's called "sevenmin" but I think it's more like eight

Cool maps everyone. This isn't as tight as it gets in Q3, but i'm reasonably certain any tighter limit is ridiculous. In case you're wondering I've seen 30 sec maps in q3.

Cool map magicsofa - but the door leading to the yellow key doesn't open (linedefs are on the wrong side).

huh...I was able to hit the switch by facing the corner of the yellow "door" .... skipping all combat ^.^

Heh, this is actually kind of entertaining.

Layout took 5 minutes. Thing placement added an extra 3. I'll just call it ten minutes :)
