jdagenet Posted August 2, 2011 Doom 2 - Awakening will be a 35 map megawad project for Doom 2, it was inspired by Doom 64. It has all Doom 64 texture's, Doom 64 item sprite's, and weapon sprite's. There will also be custom monster's and weapon's. I have 19 map's so far. fullmetalvaran33 Posted August 3, 2011 This sounds and looks appealing, although, it does look a bit too dark. I like dark maps also, but may I suggest adding some more light sources? The thing that makes dark maps eerie is the proper balance of light and shade, a stark contrast. Shadows are just as nice as flat-out darkness, but they add more depth and intensity to the atmosphere. I would experiment with different light sources and their strengths until you find a reasonable balance between light and shadow. I look forward to this when it's done! 0 Share this post Link to post

magicsofa Posted August 3, 2011 I've never played doom64, so I don't know how it compares, but those screens look really bland to me. The ultra saturated colored lighting combined with basically no variation in light intensity makes it look more like a bad acid trip than a doom level (or a sweet acid trip) 0 Share this post Link to post

jdagenet Posted August 20, 2011 Here is a monster I made called the Nightmare Hellknight, its slightly translucent, moves a bit faster than the original, it attack in three's, throwing the green baron balls then its fourth attack is a homing, red baron ball and it does a bit more damage, it has a bit more health than the Baron of Hell and can not be resurrected by the Archvile.
