A.Gamma Posted August 4, 2011 While watching a Blitzkid video I stumbled across this mexican Horror Punk band called Dead Rising, turns up they have a song about Doom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlKpHsE0OYU Translated Lyrics: Somewhere in Mars The military base wanted to experiment They only found death And evil filled demons Everything was a mistake They opened a portal to another dimension Where hellish monsters Will be their Doom A portal was opened Through hell they'll live Everyone will die That will be the end Everyone will die Everything was a mistake They opened a portal to another dimension Where hellish monsters Will be their Doom A portal was opened Through hell they'll live Everyone will die That will be the end Everyone will die. 0 Share this post Link to post
Malinku Posted August 4, 2011 Soo does Hexen (A thrash band) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtVTSJLLXm8&feature=channel_video_title Transferred from earth into outer space, A base on mars; the most desolate place, Home to secret projects and nuclear waste, Something's not right, there's this evil I taste. In the ninth corridor I'd pass on my way, A gateway stood that the scientists made, An "inter-dimensional space traveling" door, That on its test run opened up to hell's core. Spewing out all over the radar scan, An unknown life-form; one never seen by man, Invading the base killing all who is in sight, Before I knew it I was the last one alive. Equipped all my weapons base is on high alert, No one picking up distress signals I'm sending to earth, Locked up all sector seven-eight floors, I'll trap them inside the ninth corridor. Sector seven-eight's down, destroying all the floors, Extermination is what they're here for, I shut off the lights and use infra-red, Hunting the hunters I'm knee-deep in the dead. From the shores of hell to our human realm, The devil sent his minions to overwhelm, Every one I kill ten emerge from the gate, They've arrived on earth and it's all too late. 0 Share this post Link to post
NiuHaka Posted August 4, 2011 Well... I can't count to ten in spanish and I don't like punk but this was a cool find. 0 Share this post Link to post

Heh, I´m not really into thrash but this is pretty awesome... I wonder how many bands have a song about Doom. 0 Share this post Link to post
chungy Posted August 5, 2011 There's this too from Epiclore, but it's just instrumental: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDey8JnltP0 0 Share this post Link to post
geo Posted August 5, 2011 Otep has a new one called Locked & Loaded that sounds inspired by Doom or taken from it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Mithran Denizen Posted August 5, 2011 I've always been fond of that Manny Charlston Band song Romero posted about midway down this page. 0 Share this post Link to post
A.Gamma Posted August 5, 2011 This is turning into something like the "post a Doom inspired song" thread or something. I knew about the Manny Charlston Band, but not the Epiclore one... I couldn't find the Otep one. 0 Share this post Link to post

I took a shit today and it sounded better than that double-bass. 0 Share this post Link to post
A.Gamma Posted August 5, 2011 He's not that bad, there are worse drummers out there. 0 Share this post Link to post

I`m guessing you are not that much into punk ;P They seem really inspired by (newer) Misfits. It was OK, but nothing I would have bought. 0 Share this post Link to post
magicsofa Posted August 5, 2011 I love punk music, although as far as well known bands the only ones I've really listened to are DK, Misfits, and NOFX (best modern punk band ever :P). I've been to plenty of local punk shows however. I agree that there are worse drummers. But, I think the drummer is the most important part of a punk band. You can have the guitarists just playing completely at random, and a singer with no sense of pitch (because he's just screaming anyway) or rhythm, and as long as the drummer is pumping out those blastbeats it's all okay. I don't think it's supposed to sound like that - you can tell that he's trying to keep up with the double-bass rhythms, and failing. If I were at a live show I would be moshing without a care but when listening at home I tend to be a lot more critical 0 Share this post Link to post

I mean, I cannot hear anything _wrong_, except for it sounding...somewhat silly...or something :P And I just gotta say, I`m not that into modern punk at all, but NOFX is probably my all time favorite band, regardless of genre ;) 0 Share this post Link to post
