deported Posted August 5, 2011 Also, I'm not experienced at all in these topics, but I have a critical question, it's mostly on hold until the actual source is released with all the license limitations...wouldn't we be able to use Punkbuster at will and stuff like that, since it comes with Doom 3 and other ID Tech 4 games? Doom 3 the game and Doom 3 the engine are separated enough that the engine source code will not help for this. Indeed, you could (and has been done) add better deathmatch/coop to Doom 3 without the engine source code at all. I'm honestly looking forward to a source port that fixes sound support on Linux. What I'm looking forward to is general improvements on the gameplay itself without any kind of...crappiness...like most of those mods add.
