Making a projectile spawn an actor on death

Question

My mod has a throwable chainsaw, and I want it to drop the chainsaw again when it hits an enemy or a wall, and I was trying to figure out how I can actually make this happen; I figured it would be possible through Decorate, and on the ZDoom Wiki I saw a property named "DropItem", which does exactly what I was looking for ("Drops an item of type classname when dying."). Would it be possible to use the DropItem property for when a projectile hits something?
