New version of AIM keeps crashing on me

Well, a few minutes ago, I was talking to gatwatcher on AIM, when suddenly the damn thing crashed on me. There's gotta be a reason why it's doing this and here the two reason I can think of:
1. Something's screwed up with my computer.
2. The new version just sucks.

Anyway, if anyone else has the latest version of AIM, has it been crashing on you if you used for more than 1 hour-2 and a half hours? The time ususally varies, but it usually crashes on me without a doubt.

I think I'll downgrade.

Nah, I'm downgrading back to 4.8-which has IIRC never crashed on me.

if it is a beta that u upgraded to, well expect shit like that. i never upgrade unless it is a true full upgrade. also if u use winXP, well thsat could be. i had problems with AIM and XP.

I got the latest version, I got XP, It works fine.

i still use an older version of AIM, stick to it untill a full( non beta version) is out. anyway i would just downgrade.

also it could be a dll file problem. if you upgraded there is a chance an old dll could be causeing problems. this has happened with AIM before aswell as ICQ. try completly removing the program, and its files, then reinstall.

Good point. Heh, I actually use the AIM client, it's better, and besides, Trillian looks like crappenstein.

So is my body...bleh. Skins don't matter in my opinion. But I just couldn't get used to the interface, so I let it go.

I'm gonna uninstall AIM soon. It's too crappy to have on your harddisk.
