It'll be a fully standalone release, with a proper beginning and end. It won't feel like half a mapset. Phase 2 will then add in the Air, Light and Dark episodes. We're not sure whether we'll do another single standalone release in another few years, or do a rolling beta where new maps get added bit by bit. But either way a completed Phase 2 is many years off. I'm treating it more like a sequel to Phase 1, rather than a second half of a single release. 8 Share this post Link to post

Bauul Posted December 19, 2021 I am absolutely thrilled to announce that after four years of hard work, Elementalism Phase 1 is nearly ready, and will be released on March 5th 2022! This has been an absolute labor of love from everyone involved, and it will be incredible to be able to share everything we've made with you all. I can't wait to have you all play it! In celebration, I made a new release date trailer! The mapset is basically finished, but the plan is to have the version released on March 5th to be as complete and final as possible, so the next two and a half months will be entirely dedicated to testing, balancing and bug-fixing. If anyone would like to be part of the internal testing process, please drop me a DM. While I will keep the number of testers at least somewhat limited just to avoid it all being overwhelming, I would be very grateful for any offers of help! 44 Share this post Link to post

It's probably possible to play through it without (I don't think there are any situations that absolutely require freelook), but the fights are all designed with the player being able to freely choose their own target. 666shooter Posted March 5, 2022 I can honestly say that while I haven't felt much if any anticipation to a AAA title in years, watching this develop over the past 4 years to the significant release today has been a real journey of excitement since discovering this on ModDB after getting into Doom on PC in 2019.
