Teder Posted May 23, 2018 That was amazing times. Almost each game was a step forward in a graphic engine. Unreal is only 4 years after Doom 2. Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, Quake 2, Half Life, Unreal, Quake 3. 0 Share this post Link to post
Jerry.C Posted May 23, 2018 You missed Duke Nukem 3D on the list. Essentially it was for Doom what Half Life was for Quake, i.e. a game that using mostly equivalent technology but with a vastly more realistic texture set. This was also a time when CPU speed doubled every two years or so. It was insane how quickly a newly purchased system became obsolete. Nowadays, if you take a 6-7 year old high end CPU and compare it to a modern one, the new one is maybe 20% faster. 0 Share this post Link to post
MFG38 Posted May 24, 2018 Almost a shame I already have the game on Steam and GOG, as well as CD-ROM. Game's awesome. 2 Share this post Link to post
Grimosaur Posted May 24, 2018 I played Unreal Tournament 99 to death, sadly only with bots because it's a super old version of the game and it's practically unplayable in servers. Never played the original game Unreal ever before, infact, I didn't even know there was an 'original game' until about a year ago. Really excited to play through this! 1 Share this post Link to post
