Squishface Posted July 11, 2018 I'd really like to nerf the shotgun of a mod I enjoy, but Slade can't seem to open .pk7 files. Is there an editor I can use for this purpose? 0 Share this post Link to post
Aquila Chrysaetos Posted July 11, 2018 Use 7Zip to open it and move the contents out into a wad file and edit them in Slade that way. Slade can't open pk7 files like it can pk3 files, so you have to dissect it, pretty much. 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted July 11, 2018 Extract to a folder with 7zip, open the folder in SLADE (yes, you can open folders), edit and save as normal. Then optionally recompress the folder back as a pk3 or pk7, but GZDoom can load folders, too. 2 Share this post Link to post
Nevander Posted July 11, 2018 Is there any point to using pk7 over pk3? 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted July 11, 2018 They should be smaller and therefore better for storage and transfer; however they take a bit more resources to load in the game. 1 Share this post Link to post
Dragonfly Posted July 11, 2018 Further to Gez's response, I found in the few times I've tried using 7zip (pk7) over zip (pk3) the space savings were minimal. 0 Share this post Link to post
