Haven't tried the newest version of GZDoom, or earlier ones, but when using 3.4.1 there's this weird black triangle at MAP07:

Almost finished Innocence X1 and I didn't want to necro the old thread, but on current GZDoom actors are infinitely tall, even though the compatibility options are default; this causes some problems with the hanging corpses throughout the episode.

Very much looking forward to Innocence X3 once I've got through the other two.

Those happen from time to time while i map and im not sure why.

Repositioning the lines will fix this quick.

thanks for finding that.

Just finished the episode. Gotta say that I enjoyed this mapset much more than I did X2. In huge part due to the change in how the maps are designed. Where X2 was big on huge empty rooms and hallways, the more compact layouts of this entry are much more welcoming, they also actually make the architecture to stand out more.

Was able to find all the secrets (including the hidden level and new Unmaker) and kill all the monsters. No bugs or anything like that encountered! So to sum it up, great short moody episode. Shame there were no void levels like Romantic Nightmares from X1 or Arcane Sanctuary from X2 though.

Geez, I get back from vacation and suddenly I've got like a dozen new WADs I need to play. :)

Really looking forward to digging into this one. Thank you!

I only had time to play the first level tonight, but so far, I liked it. Interesting Quake remixes, by the way!

Zipping through this on HMP in GZDoom 3.3.1. It's awesome. Found a slight bug in MAP03, with a floating armor bonus. (I assume it did this when the lift rose back up.)

Hi could you put links to the other maps in x series in your post thanks.

Hi! Could you please use punctuation next time you're gonna write anything? Thanks.

Also, how hard could it be to search that for yourself?

Couple quick questions I didn't think to ask last night:

1. Is there meant to be no HUD when using the automap? (Is it to stay more faithful to the PSX style?)

2. You've got that lovely Innocence X logo at the top of the thread, but the game menu uses the vanilla Innocence logo instead. Is that intentional?

1. I just figured having the Automap without a hud just looked better

2. The InnocenceX Logo looks like a complete mess when shurnk down to M_Doom size. And all of the innocence series has the same logo and makes it more unified.

Out of curiosity, have you considered merging the Innocence Trilogy into one package, completed with a custom episode selection menu?

I did at one point,  but im pretty much done with the Innocence Series after this so, its not top priority.

MAP04 notes:

These 3 pillars all have very minor texture misalignments:

These exit area bars are wide enough to just waltz on through:

So you do not plan on making any more mapsets in the style of Playstation Doom?

Anyway, found a minor issue in MAP05: in the room with the two Pain Elementals spawning in and the teleporter on top of a rock pillar, it is possible to go through the southern window by strafe-jumping from the staircase. I thought it led to a secret.

Beta v.3 Uploaded

- Fixed the Bars in Map 04 and made them effectively block the player

- Fixed the Sky "Windows" in Map 05 so that the player cannot strafe jump over them.

- Some Texture realignment

After a dozen more tries, I finally managed to beat the Elder Demon. I have to say, I am really not a fan of the Real Icon of Sin, but at least, your take on the boss fight is much shorter than the original. All in all, while I enjoyed Innocence X3, I think it pales in comparison to X1 and especially X2.

I also found some typos in the ending screen:

Quote

The Pile of flesh and bones, that was once

the Elder Demon, crumble before you.

"Pile" should not be capitalised, there is an 's' missing after "crumble" and there is no need for commas.

The pile of flesh and bones that was once the Elder Demon crumbles before you.

Quote

The last remaining Overlord of hell
has been slain!

"Hell" should be capitalised:

The last remaining Overlord of Hell

has been slain!

Quote

Before the explosion was able to burn

through your armor, You found a way to
evacuate this infernal wasteland.

"You" should not be capitalised. I am not a native English speaker myself, but "to evacuate this infernal wasteland" strikes me as a bit odd. I would suggest to escape this infernal wasteland.

Before the explosion was able to burn

through your armor, you found a way to
escape this infernal wasteland.

Quote

There it is, Your ticket home!
After destroying hell for good, you finally
found The exit gate.
Your way back to earth!

Neither "Your" nor "The" should be capitalised, but "hell" should.

There it is, your ticket home!
After destroying Hell for good, you finally
found the exit gate.
Your way back to earth!

I didn't encounter any major flaws on my playthrough. Only one "stuck" Spectre on Map 02 in the Soulsphere-Area right infront of the switch, but that might be intentional.

Another nice installment of the Innocence X series.

This time the boss battle was really tough, I was wondering how to beat it but on my playthrough I somehow managed to dodge most of the attacks and survived with, I think, under 100HP.

Amount of ammo and health is alright on a continous playthrough.

My favorite map was Map 03 "Deep Six". That was spectacular. It had some kind of plot, but without the narration, which I found refreshing.

Thanks for the Innocence X series @jazzmaster9.

One more typo report, although I am not sure about this one.

Map04's name is "Vampir"; should it not be Vampire?

Nope, that is infact "Vampir" :)
