NaNoWADMo 2018

I only got 2 done this weekend so far...  Starting to feel the burn.  I'm not even spending time polishing or anything.  I gotta pick up the pace again next weekend.

So I'll need to spend some additional time populating the map and giving the eastern one-third of the map another aesthetic pass, but E1M4 is just a bit away from being done.

 

 

Eleven days, three(-ish) maps; it's apparent that I'm not going about this in a way that'll let me turn out a full 27-map megaWAD within the month.  I think I'm going to set my sights on getting a single episode finished, and anything beyond that can be a bonus.

Planning to fill out the entire thing with caverns and stuff, the idea is that you are going through tunnels in the walls of a volcano.

An episode in a month is still a big achievement!

I've got one episode finished so far. Not as many maps as I'd hoped, but I usually pick up my pace the closer we get to the 30th.

I've been feeling really tired lately, so I'm 2 maps behind. I might not have 30 maps ready by the end of the month, but hopefully I can reach 25 at best. After map10 you die, so it's an episodic format similar to Scythe.

Eh. I have a similar issue with my maps, but I trying to make them almost IWAD size.

Anyway still working hard on it, 8 maps done (some needs minor tweaks like thing placement), 3 maps made only layouts or pieces of them and... make the other maps in 2 weeks.

Well, I can say it's a good goal so far!

Indeed, every UD wad needs a mt Erebus style map

Just finished map #16, I think this is one of the better linear layouts I've done, actually

 

This puts me at halfway finished with the monthly megawad!

map #17 is mostly subterranean. it has lots of imps and zombiemen. not much to look at, just a lot of rock textures, but I think the gameplay is pretty good.

Thought process: "Why don't I do E1M8 next?  It'll be a change of pace, to set up a pitched battle or boss encounter rather than all these traps and ambushes and incidental encounters, and a boss arena will probably be quicker to map than a techbase maze."
