Vanessa Posted November 17, 2018 (edited) Hey, so I just wanted to make a fun little thread to show people your opinion on the best songs by the best bands. For me, the best band is Green Day (I know I've said it before but not everyone on here has seen it, not even remotely close). So for the best Green Day songs ever, I'd choose a lot. Here's a list: Basket Case Chump/Longview Holiday/Boulevard of Broken Dreams Jesus of Suburbia Platypus (I Hate You) When I Come Around Android Welcome to Paradise American Idiot Fuck Time King For A Day Shout Take Back 21st Century Breakdown 0 Share this post Link to post

masterplumber Posted November 17, 2018 Christ, this guy again! No, you can't have a favorite band. I know your intentions are good, but it just comes off as sad and pathetic. Here, listen to some real punk: 1 Share this post Link to post

I mean, if one's passionate about music and actively searching for something fresh I've no idea how they can still pick only one as their favorite. Even from my wall of text above (which can still go a long way) I can't pick one over another considering there's also multiple genres. 1 Share this post Link to post

I most certainly can And it's Green Day You can talk shit about new Green Day saying "old Green Day is better" but to me old and new is good. (And yes, I know you didn't even mention new or old Green Day. Just wanna say that.) Also I do have more than one favourite band. It's simply that Green Day is my top favourite of all my favourites. 0 Share this post Link to post

[McD] James Posted November 18, 2018 (edited) Mac Sabbath covered Brain Stew when I saw them the other night. It kicked ass. I've always had a soft spot for vintage Green Day, and even knew how to play some of their songs at one point. Kinda. They're pretty lame now, though. @DesecratorJ This message board is really glitchy tonight. Certain things seem to be disappearing. Shit's weird, man. I also don't know how to edit my post where I use @ to respond to users, by means of deleting their @name. I was making a joke, but stopped because it wasn't funny or interesting. 9 hours ago, Space Boss said: No, you can't have a favorite band. 1 Edited November 18, 2018 by Ajora 1 Share this post Link to post

Dagazur Posted November 18, 2018 not everyone would agree but I've always argued and made a point that Trapped Under Ice is by far Metallica's ultimate best work, maybe cause it's sounds more like Bonded by Blood era Exodus due to Kirk Hammets input? most likely :) 0 Share this post Link to post
DesecratorJ Posted November 18, 2018 Maybe, but Bonded By Blood as a whole is still better hehe. 0 Share this post Link to post

rehelekretep Posted November 18, 2018 joe hisaishi - legend of ashitaka theme its so goddamn emoshonull :'3 death - bite the pain its the riff, its the tortured vocals, its the descent into fury-blasting and then back out again. its a rollercoaster song gojira - toxic garbage island its a thunderstorm of epic proportions in a song mastodon -march of the fire ants from the first note this is a breath of fresh air to the sludge/metal scene. so many ideas in 1 song of only 4:26. its also got that perfect Brann jazz drumming nujabes - the final view its got that beautiful Spartacus Love Theme sample, and the title is fitting. i like to imagine this song playing where hes at peace deathspell omega - abscission its got some normal sounding riffage, its got some atonal awfulness, the singer sounds genuinely tortured, its brilliant. probably not the best thing to play to a newbie to the metal scene though :D project pat - be a g (remix) the instrumental is amazing, the verses are project pat, the sentiment is savage. its a great song. ghostface killah - all that i got is you cmon, its a bit saccharine, but how many rappers have done a song talking about their mom in such a beautiful way while telling an amazing coherent story? what a legend ghost is. eyehategod - my name is god (i hate you) this song just starts the album off and says 'i dare you to actually listen to this'. the section from 2:50 is insanely heavy slow destructive metal. incredible opener to an amazing album. ugk - murder it has to be this for the bun b verse. big l - da graveyard this beat, the features (including an early jay-z). its perfect 90s NY rap. lil durk - dis aint what u want undeniable. drill anthem. he hasnt made anything as good since. pete rock and cl smooth - troy can there be any discussion? beautiful sample, beautiful words, beautiful ode to a dead friend dday one - dust ritual so simple, so beautiful, strangely menacing. freddie gibbs - eastside moonwalker this is all about the instrumental. Gibbs does what he does best but this is all about the spacey out of this world beat with spacey synths and flubby drums freddie gibbs/madlib - thuggin yes im cheating but this was technically another artist so there. amazing instrumental and Freddie gets to show off his amazing story-telling. electric wizard - funeralopolis its all about that bass. 0 Share this post Link to post
