I'd also include Mano Laikas but that's just me. I only mentioned 1monster since both BtSX Episodes are present. I'm unsure whether the list is only for the more popular megawads, otherwise I too would include Mano Laikas. 0 Share this post Link to post
Deadwing Posted December 4, 2018 (edited) 55 minutes ago, DJVCardMaster said: Nothing fresh? From this year? This year has been overloaded with awesome releases, although some of them might not be the best fit for this thread (faithful classic Doom gameplay): - Deathless (classic Doom megawad with 36 short and awesome maps) - Struggle (it has a new weapon set, but it's limit removing) - REKKR (It's a TC, but it's vanilla compatible) - Doom 404 - Exomoon (only 23 maps, though) - Mayhem 2018 (Orange and Purple, which summed up has plenty of maps) There are a lot more other releases, such as Avactor and Golden Souls 2, but they are way too much out of this thread criteria, I guess (Avactor with 11 huge maps and GS being for UDMF, for example). And I'm sure there have been some megawads that got released but they didn't get much attention. Anyway, if you still know all of these, 10th December Dragonfly will release Evilternity which promises to be an awesome 32 map boom megawad. 1 Share this post Link to post
TheV1perK1ller Posted December 4, 2018 I do have a few other WADs in mind, just for future reference: 2001: Revolution! (Thomas van der Velden) Vanilla 2004: Vile Flesh (Gwyn Williams) Boom 2010: Epic 2 (Alexander S.) Vanilla 2012: EvilTech (Nicolas Monti) Vanilla 2012: Survive in Hell (JC Dorne) Boom 2013: Zone 300 (Paul Corfiatis) Vanilla 2014: MAYhem 2048 (Various) Boom 2015: Swift Death (franckFRAG) Boom 2016: MAYhem 1500 (Various) Boom 2017: Illuminatus (NiTROACTiVE) Vanilla Will think of additional entries when I can. 2 Share this post Link to post
GarrettChan Posted December 5, 2018 50 Monsters by AD (3 maps by Breezeep, 1 map by an_mutt and 1 map by Skillsaw) Vanilla / -complevel 2 I think all the maps in this WAD are small maps. Except Map32, all maps have 50 monsters (probably including Lost Souls), and later levels are quite challenging in my opinion. It's a very good choice for people who are going for short maps. If you're looking for a challenge, all the maps should be able to be finished on Fast Monster settings. 6 Share this post Link to post

Grain of Salt Posted December 5, 2018 A couple of wildcards no one's mentioned yet: cyberdreams, and avj.wad Both dedicated to niche gameplay, but very imaginative and well made. 3 Share this post Link to post

Doomkid Posted January 9, 2019 Apologies for the bump, but I really think MarsWar from 1998 deserves a mention, it was many peoples first megawad and has actually held up kinda well. http://toastytech.com/doom/marswar.zip - Link to the 1998 version http://toastytech.com/doom/marsw301.zip - Bugfixed version that came years later 3 Share this post Link to post

My bad. ^ Hard disagree. Also: 2012 - Eviltech: Soul of Megawad (Nicolas Monti) 0 Share this post Link to post
FrancisT218 Posted January 10, 2019 (edited) Lunar Catastrophe, Jiffy Bag, and Deathless (Dec 2018/Jan 2019) - new entities and quite old schoolish! Death Tormention Pack, if compilations (with minor upgrades) are allowed. Also: DooM II - NOVA 2 in 2015. 4-episode UDooM - DTWID Lost Episodes and No End in Sight in 2016. 3-episode DooM I - Needs More Detail (2009), Base Ganymede (2012).
