Freezing scripted marine and one sided script activator

To freeze a monster/scripted marine, you would likely use Thing_Deactivate on it. As for the second part of your question, do you mean how to make it so the script linedef is only activated on one side? If so, you'd use the LineSide function to check and only execute commands if it matches either the front or back.
