dobu gabu maru Posted January 2, 2019 I've added a new teleport animation to my map but it looks bad when the animation is translucent. Any way to fix this? 0 Share this post Link to post

Open the Things window, scroll down the list to "teleport fog" and select it. In the "flags" box thingy, untick "translucent", which is the very last flag. (And then save as a bex file, open as text and insert it into your wad, ofc.) 0 Share this post Link to post
1 Aquila Chrysaetos Posted January 2, 2019 That's bizarre. It might be because of the code field it's in. Try the below and see if it still spits an error. actor TeleportFog2 : TeleportFog replaces TeleportFog { RenderStyle Normal } 0 Share this post Link to post
0 Aquila Chrysaetos Posted January 2, 2019 Depends on the port, I guess. For ZDoom, you could write a small DECORATE line like this: actor TeleportFog2 : TeleportFog replaces TeleportFog { RenderStyle Normal } I can't say for sure if this would work (because I've never tried replacing this actor before), but this is a solution in theory. For PRBoom, I would assume that Dehacked would be the solution, but I can't say for sure if a change like this is possible with DHE (or, indeed, if it would even be necessary). 0 Share this post Link to post
0 Death Egg Posted January 2, 2019 If the default DEHACKED settings don't have the ability to change it, Doom Retro's extensions do. 0 Share this post Link to post

0 dobu gabu maru Posted January 2, 2019 I got the same error again. Buuuuut all I did was copy & paste over AA's Alien Plasma decorate line, change the actors, and voila, it works! Thanks for the help Aquila. 1 Share this post Link to post
0 Grain of Salt Posted January 2, 2019 You can turn off translucency using BEX, which is much better than messing around with decorate or doom retro. 0 Share this post Link to post
