I nevertheless contacted Bethesda/Zenimax (owners of Id Software now) to ask for a more explicit authorization. However, I never got any replies from them, even after a few contact attempts. I think they simply don’t care, as Doom 3 is a 15 years old game now, and the online demonstration is just involving the Demo version of the game.

Kinda disappointed he didn't get any reply from Zenimax, but at least he took that issue into consideration. Would be unfortunate to see it be desisted before release.
