Doom Eternal Hints in DOOM 2016 Multiplayer

Recommended Posts

Found this on the DOOM reddit. The guy is kind of cringey to listen to, but what he found is neat.

The text he wants to decipher looks like Arabic/some other Middle Eastern language, but I doubt that it actually is.

Or id created all that stuff for Doom 2016 and is simply reusing it in Doom Eternal. The whole video is based on the idea that all that stuff was created for Doom Eternal and then incorporated into Doom 2016, but it collapses like a house of cards if you consider that it could be the other way around.

it's pretty amazing how insane the game theorists are at this point that a parody video gets taken seriously.

I think the biggest lore nerds here already knew most of this.  I have spent several hours combing every inch of the MP maps in order to find the smallest bits of new lore.  Marty and Martin have said in several interviews that there are indeed clues in Doom 4 and anything put in the 2016 game will not be written off.  It all has a purpose.

I don't think so. id started working on their own MP maps after Doom 2016 was released. By then they probably already new their next game might be Doom 2019. Why not start trying your first ideas by creating MP maps?

It would be interesting to investigate whether the Doom 2019 multiplayer assets have been in Doom 2016s game library or even snapmap in Doom 2016s initial release or not.

That explains the cringe. I'll take it that parts were made cringey to poke fun at Game Theory, which is also the reasoning for the logo on the thumbnail, eh?

I could try to look into this, no guarantee though as the only way I can think of checking this is on a physical copy of the game, and I only have a physical copy for xbox one, where literally some games only have a CD key on the disk and the whole game needs to be downloaded, and even if there is data on the disk besides a CD key the blu-ray drives that I have might not be able to read it (But as far as I know this should only be a problem for PS3 games).

How did you miss Boneyard?

Boneyard is a colorful version of Earth post invasion.

Also in the MP maps Outbreak & Ritual we see the Icon of Sin growing in a tank and alive in the snowy mountains.

Outbreak shows a UAC ship with the tentacles reaching for another ship.

My theory is the Cult of the UAC retrieved the IOS and are feeding it and repairing it with Argent energy and Human Souls.

It breaks out of containment on the UAC ship and hitches a ride to earth.

It lands and starts devouring people and growing into the planet as we have seen in the initial Eternal trailer.

Its all right there in the DLC MP maps.

Its the TidusDream12 gift to the Doom community.

People became so hung up on Sentinel Prime they missed the rest of it.

In the MP map Outbreak go to the middle of the map where the bridge is and run towards the end of the bridge to the computer control area.

Its actually a tank with the Icon of Sin growing in it.

Than hang a right to the green acid area and there is a massive worm like the ones that protected the Crucible growing in the tank its 3d modeled and makes a noise if you jump at the glass towards it.

Than go to Ritual MP Map and find the Icon of sin on earth getting sacrifices via a fire pedestal.

I think they are going the Zerg route with Hell and its an awful lot like creep.

I would make a video on this however I travel for work too much.

Enjoy the views.

Also if you look at the Eternal images of the wretch, he is actually the warrior caste of the Elemental Wraiths.

I think the map Argent Breach shows you the differences between the too styles of Wraiths.

One is holding a Spear, and the other is the Elemental Wraith before demonic invasion of Argent D'Nur.

The elemental wraith has an orb in its statue just like the ones you pierce in the last mission of Doom 2016.

It would make sense that and Warrior Wraith gave the slayer his Power.
