Increasing save file slots in GLBoom/PRBoom+

I have knee-deeped into GLBoom+ a lot recently, and I figured out that 8 save file slots are not enough for a megawad player like me. Are there any ways for me to increase them or should I backup old save files for future usages instead?

Are you able to recompile the code yourself? Then it would be rather easy.

Is it though? At first glance it seems like it'd be a pain to mess with the menu code and find a way to cram more rows into the save/reload interface (say if you wanted, 16 slots, instead of 8).

Well, I was thinking of maybe two more slots. Anything more would be a bit more involved, I admit.

Using a dehacked file with altered savegame string should work.

I suppose you could steal from DoomLegacy, get 99 slots and savegame directories.

Some parts of that code are more complicated than you would want to re-invent. Depends if you plan on spending less than a week at it.

The problem comes from, what to do when the slots displayed no longer fit on the screen area available.

I was just gonna download another PrBoom Plus and put it in another directory for more save slots lol.
