MCarsten Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) Belial's Library — Remastered! So, three years ago I submitted a map entitled Belial's Library to the world. I got some very nice and motivating reviews from both DoomWorld and DoomWADStation. This past week I've decided to retouch my old mappy and revise it, improve it and extend it. As I view it, this version is much more elabored, containing a more action-packaged, dynamic, intense, difficult and sinister gameplay. **** Step into the library grounds of the Devil himself. Sneak through the bookshelves carefully, for The Beast awaits you in the dark flames of the cauldron of hell otherwise. **** !!!DOWNLOAD!!!: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1JPPXHf7HbCJB_aA-2-6Cldq-9MyW-QxR SCREENSHOTS: Spoiler DESCRIPTION: Spoiler =========================================================================== Primary purpose : Single play =========================================================================== Title : Belial's Library - Remastered Filename : beliallibrm.wad Release date : 31st January 2019 Author : MCarsten Email Address : marcelocarstena@gmail.com Other Files By Author : Belial's Library Description : * Step into te library grounds of the Devil himself. Tribal Posted March 22, 2019 Hi! I'm stuck in that room from the 6° screenshot. Spoiler Behind the Baron, i pressed a red skull in the middle of that cross, some enemies appeared, i killed them... and now i'm stuck. The exit door is closed... One thing i noticed, there is a blue skull texture where the red skull was, i have the blue key, but i press the blue skull and nothing happens. What can i do now? :/ 0 Share this post Link to post

You may notice that at the wall inside the ceiling from where one of the library cases lowered, there is a skull switch (northeastern to the entrance of this room). Stay below it and press the use key. The locked entrance may lower down. Good luck and thank you for trying my WAD! 2 Share this post Link to post
tmorrow Posted May 9, 2019 I managed to uvmax this enjoyable map. Who would have thought that Belial would have such an extensive library, he must be very well read! My favourite areas are the room full of library shelves stacked 3 high all around and the blood area from the crushers to the staircase of library shelves. I enjoyed the inclusion of the tomb raider assets, especially the lovely chime when you discover a secret. I thought the ammo was balanced nicely, perhaps a little too generous with shells. The 13 secrets were fun to find. The most dangerous areas for me were the 2 archvile rooms. The final room can be lethal the first time but as long as you found the secret bfg and saved your cells, it's straightforward to handle. The progression was mostly clear except for the room mentioned by @Tribalwith the ceiling switch after the library cases have lowered, I can imagine more people getting stuck there. I never saw the original belial's library but was fortunate enough to discover the improved and extended remaster. Thanks for your efforts. 1 Share this post Link to post
Suitepee Posted May 14, 2019 https://www.twitch.tv/videos/424889104 I playtest this at 2 hours and 55 minutes (2:55:45) into the livestream. I didn't really enjoy this one to be honest, and it felt a bit wonky in places (not least the poor song choice, which I had to switch out after a bit), but some good effort was shown here regardless. 1 Share this post Link to post
Austinado Posted May 15, 2019 I started enjoying the map, got the 3 keys, but soon, the lack of ammo, health, and the music (omg man, you could done better than that loop of 5 seconds) did not let me to want to keep going...i always play in hurt me plenty, so i dont know is because of that. By the way, i had the same problem, i thought i was lockced inside the room with no escape (6th screenshot), i had to come here to see what was that all about...skull switch (northeastern to the entrance of the room)...maybe you should have trigger it with the shooting instead of presssing use...because i saw it and tried to shoot it. Either way, i enjoyed the mapping design...but that lack of ammo...i got myself puching demons because everything was down to zero. Quite a challenge with the dark areas... i give you 3 out of 5...in general, it always made me wanted to keep going...Keep up ;) 1 Share this post Link to post
