GZDoom Severe lag and sound twitching

Recommended Posts

When i start a level, it works properly, but only for 1-10 seconds. Then it starts lagging like HELL. The sound also twitches. Well, you just need to see this.
ZDoom works perfectly, but i need GZDoom.

P.S. Sorry for the watermark, i am too lazy to crack Bandicam XD
P.P.S. Oh crap, the gameplay wasn't recorded. But believe me - it was FREEZING.

This lag problem occurs in my PC too. To deal with this lag, I use one of the following two options:

(1) Use GZDOOM at the lowest resolution(640 X 480).

(2) If the option (1) doesn't work, I use an older version of GZDOOM(v2.1.0 or below).

In my case, my PC does not lag when I use older versions of GZDOOM(v.2.1.0 and below). But, it does lag when I try to use more recent version of GZDOOM (v3.3.1 and above). I don't know what goes wrong here, But, this is how I deal with this problem.

Also, you can try using Gl-Boom Plus/Pr-Boom Plus instead of GZDOOM

Here's the link: https://sourceforge.net/projects/prboom-plus/

I thought (G)ZDoom's lowest resolution is 320x200. lol.
Anyway, for the OP's question, if you still want to play on GZDoom, try deleting the .ini file.
Or yeah, like AD009 said, try Pr/GLBoom+.

Do you get the same problem on both the modern build and the Vintage build of GZDoom?
