Koko Ricky Posted February 25, 2019 I've noticed an inconsistency with how memes are handled here; It can result in a shitpost warning, or it can go completely unnoticed. In order to discourage unwanted behavior, I think it would be nice if we could clarify this since it's not really outlined in the rules. So it's probably not a bad idea to establish exactly what kind of memes are/are not appropriate to post. Purely textual memes seem to be harmless, but I haven't been able to gauge image macros. Is it as matter of excess, size or content, or ought it be avoided all together? 1 Share this post Link to post
geo Posted February 25, 2019 There's a random image thread that would be a catch all. I think there was some sort of Doom meme thread a year or so ago. 0 Share this post Link to post

Right, and one could assume that's a safe spot for meme dumping, but I've noticed a lot of examples of image macros being used elsewhere, and for the life of me cannot figure out whether that's kosher. 0 Share this post Link to post
GuyMcBrofist Posted February 25, 2019 Probably the only place image macros are appropriate is when a thread has already gone to shit and is about to be locked. 3 Share this post Link to post

Hellbent Posted February 25, 2019 I think posting memes requires a good sense for the "meta meme climate" as to know what memes will fly and which ones will illicit the ire of the mods. 3 Share this post Link to post

On a serious note, it's safe to assume that most of 4chan, reddit and twitter wouldn't fly on here. 1 Share this post Link to post
