Problem making ambient sound play before map begins

I want to make a script that starts map01 off with a completely black screen and all you can hear is a creepy ambient sound noise. When the ambient sound stops, the map comes back into focus and finally begins and you can take control of the player as usual.


How can this be done?

One way to do it:

Start the player in a completely dark box, with a plat for a wall, that slowly drops. Set the height of the plat such that you get an opening when the ambient sound stops.
