nupsu1234 Posted April 29, 2019 Hey everyone. First post, so please go easy on me. So I was playing a lot of Reelism (nice wad) and I thought I would learn modding myself so maybe I can also contribute with awesome content in the future. I tried making a simple assault rifle weapon and... it just won't show up in game. I looked at the GunLabs and ZDoom wiki tutorials and according to those pages, everything should be working. I'm going to attach a PK3 file, maybe someone can tell me what went wrong? assaultrifle.rar 0 Share this post Link to post
snapshot Posted April 29, 2019 This might sound obvious but, did you actually spawn the gun in the game? place it in a custom map using the map editor, make it drop from an enemy, or replace one of the existing weapons with it? 0 Share this post Link to post
nupsu1234 Posted April 29, 2019 Absolutely no idea how to do that. It's my very first WAD ever. 0 Share this post Link to post
nupsu1234 Posted April 29, 2019 It's as if the weapon itself doesn't even exist, but it should because I created it using code! 0 Share this post Link to post
snapshot Posted April 29, 2019 you could make it drop from an enemy, like former human: ACTOR ZombieMan2 : ZombieMan Replaces ZombieMan { DropItem "assaultrifle",255 } or replace one of the other weapons already in the game with it: ACTOR AssaultRifle : Weapon replaces Pistol 123 { //your code here } or add it as a resource in a map editor and place it in a custom map. 0 Share this post Link to post

Did that to make it replace the shotgun. The shotgun is still in the game and it wasn't replaced by anything. EDIT: There has to be something wrong in the code, but I have no idea what. 0 Share this post Link to post
snapshot Posted April 29, 2019 (edited) Okay I just took a look at your file, and it looks like you're trying to use S_START and S_END makers in a .pk3, you don't need them in .pk3s, remove them and make a new folder inside your .pk3 and name it "sprites" then place your sprite there. 2 Share this post Link to post
