Its this mapset here: https://www.moddb.com/mods/dont-play-with-hell-black-edition/downloads/dpwh-be-prologue-x64-13 , it was originally meant for Brutal Doom Black Edition, I believe the one I linked comes bundled with it, then there was a standalone version made which was meant to be played with other mods. Its actually really good but its very resource intensive hehe. Would definitely recommend if you got halfway decent hardware:)

Here's Standalone: https://www.moddb.com/mods/dont-play-with-hell-part-1/downloads/dont-play-with-hell-part1-v05stand-alone

To answer the OP, the only one that rally comes to mind is the Hell On earth Starter Pack, which was just recently updated to Extermination Day: https://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom/forum/thread/extermination-day-pre-beta-download, its of course meant for Brutal Doom but Nevander made a patch for HoESP to be played Vanilla or with other mods instead of BD. Another great mapset that comes to mind is Hellbound, made years ago, it doesn't use advanced features of GZDoom but it holds up very well to this day. Map 29 can be laggy though.

yes, it is a very heavy wad, i have a ryzen 5 2600x, 16gb ram, sapphire rx480 and i get stuttering often

the best of the old wads i've play is the ultimate torment and torture, but this one is better

Assuming that you're looking for "semi-realistic" artstyle and design in maps:

Dark Encounters, which is appropriately brutally hard when played with Project Brutality/Brutal DOOM.

The Alfonzone is pretty great too, quite a lot of humor and some very interesting levels.

A.L.T. is a wad I haven't played all the way through yet, but It's been a weird experience. It's been interesting exploring the city the wad takes place in, but the very first level starts with you blatantly looking at one of those player-kill-dummy(?) things which is immediately used to sap a big chunk of HP.

Going Down has been one of my most enjoyable wads at the moment. The only thing I think i can say without spoiling it is: every level has a different level design/gameplay gimmick. And all you need to do is find the keycard and get back to the elevator, just keep going down.

All of the above are mod-compatible with anything, I'm pretty sure.
Also PRODOOMER because it's dumb but great

Check out Dark Universe

Very atmospheric and uses many gzdoom tricks to create a believable space station setting.

Also I'd wait with playing Extermination Day until it's fully finished which should be soon. BDv21 gameplay was fully released recently and the author said he will now finish the campaign.
