Whats your favorite Doom game and why?

4. Doom II: Hell on Earth + The Master Levels + No Rest for the Living

Doom 3 sucks. Walk down a dark corridor, jumpscare, repeat for 15 hours.

 

I used to consider Doom II my favorite but I've been playing through the whole series again recently and I feel like some maps in Doom II are needlessly convoluted and a bit of a chore to be honest. Still a great game and I love the super shotgun, though.

 

Doom 64 has incredible map design. I just wish, on the original N64 version, that it saved your brightness and custom control settings. It's a bit of a pain to set that up every time I turn on the game. I know I could just play EX but I'd rather play the game as it was designed, on an original controller and a CRT monitor (I use a Sony PVM).
