Gokuma Posted August 5, 2019 (edited) Couldn't find a listing of DW's hosted sites so poked around in the wayback machine to make a list with their most recent updates noted. Alfonzo Posted August 6, 2019 Doom Underground is the reason I'm here. I can't remember exactly when this was — 2003, maybe? — but for a time I sourced all of my Doom material from that site, building my knowledge of PWADs up from nothing to something resembling an essentials library of classics, plus extras. Maybe this has something to do with why I bee-lined straight for the /newstuff center when I became a member in 2010 (though, sadly, making a pig's ear of the writing). Thanks, Colin! 2 Share this post Link to post
Doomkid Posted August 7, 2019 (edited) Hopefully this isn’t considered a derail, but this seems too relevant not to post, a giant list of ancient doom sites: and there’s even more here: https://doomshack.org/olddoomsites.html 4 Share this post Link to post
joepallai Posted August 7, 2019 Its too bad about Hellstorm; that one always looked interesting to me. The Doom Underground and Sir Robin's Castle were great review sites back in the day. I use to go to those frequently.... Didn't Doomer's Pictures start off as a thread? I seem to recall that. There was that and the Doomer location map that happened around the same time... 1 Share this post Link to post
Reisal Posted August 7, 2019 (edited) It sounds like the list needs a cleanup/purge/archival? 1 Share this post Link to post
Impie Posted August 8, 2019 I guess there's no preservation of the Dracula Doom site? 0 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted August 11, 2019 Oh man, I almost forgot that DW used to host a bunch of sites. I forgot about the Green Pile! Silverwyvern was great. Last I heard she illustrated a couple kids books or something. 3 Share this post Link to post
Sharessa Posted August 12, 2019 I did once. I think the new software killed it or something. 0 Share this post Link to post
DuckReconMajor Posted August 12, 2019 Doomworld cut back on funding! They will regret this! 4 Share this post Link to post
