CrocketRocket Posted August 28, 2019 (edited) Hello Doomworld. I have decided to go ahead and let you know on a little project I had on my mind for quite sometime. I had originally started on working on it once Cactus Canyon was done but I had forgotten to close SLADE and Gzdoom out and had messed myself up. Also this wad was tested in once again ZDOOM and LZDOOM since once again I'm still using the Craptop ----------------------------------------------------- The story for this wad is that you and your marine buddies had gotten a call from the UAC on how a couple of scientist had been receiving weird signals from the abandoned Teleportation Labs out in the middle of the woods and had requested Marine HQ to send out their best of the best and quickly solve whatever the hell is going on out there. As you and your crew teleported towards the labs one by one. The warp gate had glitched out as soon as you were the last man to go and had sent you towards another location far out from where you're location out into the deeper parts of the woods. As you had arrived to your unwanted destination the teleporter you heard radio chatter on where they are located at. Grabbing your trusty pistol in hand you set out into the woods... ------------------------------------------------------- Spoiler If there's something wrong with the story let me know because I am horrible at making stories As for the maps I had decided to go ahead and just make it a 10 level wad (11 including a secret one). And I am currently looking for playtesters as well MAPS I have planned out. Uni Posted September 5, 2019 I'm with Tango here, screenshots look fantastic. Also I don't think you need to worry too much about an actual story, not to say that having a story is not important but if the maps are played well and fun enough and the architecture is there(seems to be) then a story won't really matter that much. CrocketRocket Posted October 16, 2019 (edited) *Random Update While making the second map I just gave up once I made a fuck up of both placements and design. That and the fact that I had SLADE and GZBuilder opened at the same time. So I just went fuck it and remade the whole thing while trying to avoid the mistake I had made with the previous one Here's some screenshots of it. Spoiler Haven't gotten started on enemy placement. I still gotta learn more on making proper placements and texture usages. CrocketRocket Posted November 10, 2019 Map 2 update: Need some testers for this Some side notes. I had alot of difficulty with the enemy placements on here so I really don't know how this is gonna turn out for a couple of you on here. First one had too many chaingunners and cluster fucks. Second too many revenants that made it easy to cheap out. I can garuentee people are gonna start getting annoyed with the amount of questions on good enemy placements.So if you have any ideas about them I'd be reall willing to listen for it. CrocketRocket Posted January 6, 2020 Some random update. I have decided to restart this wad completely. Looking back at my current maps like the "outpost" and "vile swamp" felt like I was going into the wrong direction. When testing it I felt like I was looking at pretty spaghetti that tasted somewhat bland and gameplay didn't feel right as if I just threw in what ever could make it taste better . So I took upon myself to just restart it completely.
