jeroa Posted September 19, 2019 (edited) am i the only one who dislikes the design of the '16 baron of hell? to me it feels like a derp face doofus i think something like what these guys did, but with more naturalistic proportions would be way more intimidating Edited September 19, 2019 by jeroa 0 Share this post Link to post
Chezza Posted September 19, 2019 (edited) These versions look truer to the original but I don't reckon they will fit the Aesthetic of modern Doom as well. The Doom 2016 Barons are good in my books. If anything I would make their face look more viscious with exposed jagged teeth and wider circular pitch white eyes to give them more of a blinded monstrous rage look 3 Share this post Link to post
FreakZoneGames Posted September 19, 2019 You kidding me? I think the 2016 one looks fantastic. Those renders you shared are a good representation of the classic one but they're pretty goofy. 7 Share this post Link to post
MFG38 Posted September 19, 2019 I much prefer the existing 2016 Baron design to anything even remotely resembling the classic look. It'd only look grossly out-of-place. 2 Share this post Link to post
RonnieJamesDiner Posted September 19, 2019 I quite liked the 2016 design, much the same as most of the new designs -- which is to say, I like them, but don't love them. They fit the general theme and aesthetic of the game, though. I just enjoy the "re-envisioning" of the classic monsters, whether it's Doom 3 or 2016. I think the only one from 2016 that I wasn't particularly fond of was the Revenant, and its jetpack "hopping" movement and slow gait didn't help the cause. 1 Share this post Link to post
Rathori Posted September 19, 2019 IMO the baron is the best looking redesign in 2016. When I saw it in-game my reaction was "Yesss! Perfect! It looks just the way it should look in 2016!". Can't say the same about the rest though, most of them are okay - but just "okay", and that's it. Although I do think that Doom-3 style HK fits in quite well, and it's finally its own thing rather than a weaker recolour. 1 Share this post Link to post
Zemini Posted September 25, 2019 I thought it was okay. It would of been better if they properly gave it green blood. 3 Share this post Link to post
Solmyr Posted October 9, 2019 2016's Baron looks cool and fits the semi-cartoony aestethics of the game. A model that looks like a remastered version of the original Baron of Hell but less cartoony and more serious would look out of place, it will clash with the look and feel of the game. 1 Share this post Link to post
Rathori Posted October 9, 2019 (edited) Every time I hear about how the original Baron of Hell is serious, I think of this: 6 Share this post Link to post
Super ShotGun Specialist Posted December 18, 2019 Yeah I’m sorry you are the only one that thinks that I love the new design, but really it’s just a update not a different design but I just can’t agree with you sorry and no offense I’m just saying I enjoy this one the best. 0 Share this post Link to post
