(C++)how to load files from file archive into memory

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to reverse engineer an old Wolf3D style game called Nitemare 3D, it uses file archives to store art and sound, does anyone know how I can load the files from the archive into memory for use in something like RWops?

I was going to use Unity3D and even created a small demo with a few enemies but that required including the game files and the game is still sold, even though the chance of legal action is small as hell it still scares me so I decided to just remake the executable, I unpacked it and found out it uses a sound library called WORX and also found some strings useful for remaking the game(item pickup messages, menu dialogue, etc)
