More than that it reminded me of when I was working on DOOM sprites the other day. I had to check the colors with the gfx editor because depending on where the pixels were relative to other surrounding pixels the same shades seemed bighter or darker, just like in the example.

I was just wondering about something like that (maybe a demon face) suddenly popping out in the screen when playing Doom, especially when entering a dark room. More scaring than a trap with revenants. Certainly a heart attack! (Ok, no one has read that, if it´s possible to do, of course!)

I think if you put your face very very close to the monitor, it´s more efficient, you´re not gonna see the black dots (which in fact don´t exist) anymore. A friendly advice: just don´t do that in number 6! (heh). BTW, number 1 reminds me of MODWALL3 texture in DooM.

I guess the elephant with confusing legs is by M.C.Escher (great artist), isn´t it? Maybe all of them...
