Recommended DOOM 3 mods and custom maps?

I've been playing DOOM 3 again (non-BFG) these last few days and began wondering what sorts of recommended mods and custom maps are out there for this game. I grabbed the Classic Doom 3 mod again (I had played it when it came out, long ago), but I am not familiar with any other custom content for Doom 3. I see a user here posted a map just recently. What else is there along those lines?

Foe BFG and DOOM 3 (2019) there is Classic RBDOOM 3 BFG

It restores ALOT of cut content, has various improvements and extends mod support for DOOM 3 (.mp3, .flac and .ogg audio support + it's own SDK and the ability to package your mods in .resources)

The only 'mod' i ever played of Doom 3 is surprisingly the Phantasm TC. But then as well, the BFG Edition doesn't support mods now...

I already recommended Tested. It's challenging, but not necessarely frustrating. It has a lot of trial-and-error situations, but you can (most times) figure out how to win the battle in another try and then it feels very satisfying.

The Phantasm TC is ambitious, but doesn't make good use of the Doom 3 engine features in my opinion. They use many custom textures, but without normal and specular maps.

I'd recommend Overthinked Doom 3. It comes packaged with Sikkmod and includes a lot of graphical enhancements---things like revamped textures with stronger bumpmaps and increased specularity for metal surfaces and blood decals, which gives them more the appearance of Doom 2016's blood decals.

 

More significantly though, it rebalances the weapons and enemies so that the game is much more in the line of being a survival horror game than the original. I found it interesting enough to play through a few times.

Are there any good custom sp maps or campaigns in the last few years. I just tried Gammalbs and Gammalbs2, and they were Pretty good. Are there any others?

Tested, Hell in Time, ELDOOM, Teh_Base. All three of them have alright level design, but their main focus is the gameplay, classic doom-alike.

Thanks for pointing it out. You should create anew thread for your map/mod here so we can give you some feedback.

I wouldn't recommend the map to everyone, though.

Guys I’m working on a map pack for the BFG edition it features the Icon of Sin,Spidermastermind and other bosses.Also new enemies(barons of hell,pain elemental arachnotron,I’m thinking of adding the cut demon that’s in the files)and weapon improvements.The Lost Mission will be extended with new maps that will feature the new bosses.Some bosses have been improved(Hell hunters are more dangerous).I also looking to make The lighting Darker since you actually have a shoulder lamp

That Icon of Sin level and boss monster was created for the Ruiner/Rivensin mod some years ago https://www.moddb.com/mods/ruiner/images/icon-if-sin#imagebox

Are you the orginal author of that map? If not, you should make clear that you just re-use content from someone else. And, of course, ask the original author for permission.

Already did Revility is helping me solve some compatibility issues with the map.Im specifically molding the BFG edition
