Ani-Toonspiracy Doom (revisited)

this is my attempt on watering down this: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/104881-ani-toonspiracy-doom/

 

in order to watering this down, all the playable characters in the DOOM Mod/WAD that proposed in linked thread are dropped, except Sora, Riku, Kairi, Donald, and Goofy (Kingdom Hearts); Ash, Misty, Tracey, and Melody (Pokemon anime); Robin, Starfire, Beast Boy, and Raven (noughties' Teen Titans cartoon); Taichi, Yamato, Sora, Mimi, Koshiro, Joe, Takeru, and Hikari (Digimon); Recca, Domon, Fuko, Mikagami, and Koganei (Flame of Recca); and Isami, Toshi, and Soshi (Isami Shinsengumi) even when they plays just like those in linked thread. this make enemies can't drop their guns for player characters upon their defeats, even when the enemies here are mostly same with one in the linked thread(with notable changes like Grox Space Marine devastators have their 4-dimensional railguns(that shoots Post-relativistic Kill vehicles) replaced by Hawking Radiation lances due to Infinite-mass rifle are powerful enough to qualifies as Planet killers, Anunnaki Myrmidon MBT can also fires disruptor lances(ignore physical defense of any character it hits) and energy-based equivalent of MK19, sniper variant of Illuminati's bog standard infantrymen uses either VEC-91 or Gauss rifles, Knight templars can also uses shoulder-mounted missile launchers, Power-armored ACME mooks also plays like Hammer Drones from MCU, some ACME soldiers can neutralizes characters' powers, there's also M2 Bradley variant with Tank gun, and so on)

 

more changes: you can switch characters you play anytime and anywhere during game. and here's the gameplay modes for this updated proposal of Doom WAD:

  • Single Player campaign
  • co-op campaign: play campaign with bots or human players, max player slots is 29 players
  • Multiplayer modes: for any multiplayer modes that aren't co-op campaign mode:
  1. attack/defend
  2. capture the flag
  3. King of the Hill
  4. Escort: much like TF2 payload mode or Overwatch Escort mode
  5. Team Deathmatch
  6. Free-For-All Deathmatch
  7. Survival mode
  8. Escort racing

Updated Playable characters' movesets/stats:

  1. Sora: Left mouse button for Physical attacks with Keyblade, Right Mouse Button for Keyblade magic spells, mouse wheels for choosing specific spells: consists Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, Curaga, Magnega, Graviga, Stopga, Wataga, summoning, and drive form, Left shift button for Roll, Spacebar twice for double jump, E button for Deflect enemy projectile and hitscan attacks, and Q button for Trinity Limit(if this used when any other characters have their ultimates fully-charged, this can become Trinity limit plus)
  2. Riku: Left mouse button for Keyblade physical attack, Right mouse button for Dark magic powers(spells consists Dark fireballs, dark shield, and so on), Left Shift button for evasive jump(can combined with double jump), E button for Deflect, and Q button for dark form
  3. Kairi: her move just like Sora, except she can't use anything she can found as weapons
  4. Donald Duck: Left Mouse Button for cast spells, Right Mouse Button for physical attacks with his staff, mouse wheels for switching spells(consists Firaga, Blizzaga, Thundaga, Curaga, Aeroga, Graviga, Stopga, and Magnega), Left shift for Teleport, E Button for turn intangible(gains Invulnerability and noclipping at expense of attack moves). physically weaker than other KH crews, and much of his HP is barrier
  5. Goofy: Left mouse button for physical attack with his shield, Right Mouse Button for Shield Throw, Left Shift button for defend with Shield(shield bash if you attack with shield up), E Button for Deflect enemy projectiles and hitscans, Left Ctrl button for ground pound with Shield
  6. Ash Ketchum: Left mouse Button for fire aura Powers(consists Aura Blast/sphere, Mind Control(take control of enemy mooks when used), Aura Lance, etc. powers choosen by mouse wheels), Right Mouse button for physical attacks(hits like Berserk punch and consists Martial arts combos), Left Shift button for Aura-enhanced speed, E button for Deflect enemy fire(with keyblade replaced by Aura constructs), Left Ctrl Button for Aura Ground Pound, Q Button for Divine Aura mode. more physically powerful than other Pokemon humans here(due to his Aura powers) and has best health regeneration out of this crossover group, can cling to vertical surfaces, and can predicts enemy moves, and half of his HP is barrier
  7. Misty: Left Mouse Button for shoots Water, Right Mouse button got Martial Arts combos, Left Shift for sprint, E Button for summon water elemental, Q button for Tsunami attack
  8. Tracey Sketchit: Left mouse button for Physical attacks, Right Mouse Button for Airblast, Middle Mouse Button for open Sceibblenauts-esque Dialogue, hold Space midair for gliding, Q button for Tornado attack. he can predict enemy moves
  9. Melody: left mouse button for play magical songs with her ocarina(specific song chosen by mouse wheels, song effects consists: healing ones, one that works like Ando's Supercharge, etc.), Right Mouse button for physical attacks, Left Shift button for activates Hand of Lugia, Q button to deploys Wing of Lugia(grants her Flight, enhanced stats, and can uses full range of Hand of Lugia powers without costing her mobility). when inactive, her Hand of Lugia can protects her from enemy projectiles
  10. Robin: Left mouse button for use weapons(cycled with mouse wheels, consists birdarang, grappling hook, explosive discs, etc), Right Mouse button for unarmed melee attacks, E Button for Deflect enemy shots(can't work with beam attacks). His deflect moves are inferior to ones other characters use, and his leadership can boost this team, and has Pressure Point as Passive ability(unarmed melee attacks has a chance of stun enemies and combo finisher has chance to temporarily disable enemy's certain abilities)
  11. Starfire: left mouse button for firing Starbolts, Right Mouse button for unarmed attacks(that's hit harder than berserk punch), spacebar twice for fly, E for eye beams. immune to poisons
  12. Raven: Left mouse button to cast spells(they can cycled with mouse wheels), Right mouse button for Telekinesis, Spacebar twice for fly, Left shift for Teleport, E button for no-clipping(at expense of attacking moves), Q for Demonic Form. half of her HP are magic barrier
  13. Beast Boy: Left mouse button melee attacks, Right Mouse button for turn into animal form(specifics are chosen by mouse wheels), left shift button for running(faster when he uses certain animal forms)
  14. Taichi: Left mouse button for shoots Fire Powers(specific powers can chosen by mouse wheels), Right Mouse button for unarmed attacks(that's hits like berserk punch), Left shift for runs on Enhanced Speed, left ctrl to ground pound when he's midair, E button for deflects enemy shots with fire sword, Left Alt button for summons his Agumon, Q button for biomerges with wargreymon(if this used without summoning agumon first, he attacks with fiery nuke)
  15. Yamato: Left mouse button for fire Ice Powers, Right mouse button for unarmed melee attacks(that's hits like berserk punch), left ctrl for ground pound when he's midair, left alt button for summons Gabumon, left shift button to be invulnerable at expense of mobility, E button for deflects enemy shots with ice construct, Q button for biomerges with Metalgarurumon(if this used without summoning Gabumon first, he freezes enemy surrounding him solid)
  16. Sora(Digimon): Left mouse button for Aerokinetic powers(specific powers cycled with mouse wheels), spacebar when she's midair for fly

    when flying, left shift for Sonic Boom; Right mouse button for melee attacks, left alt button for summons her Biyomon, Q button for biomerges with Hououmon(if this used without summoning Biyomon first, she summons tornado

  17. Koshiro: Left mouse button for shoots lightning(hold for lightning ball), Right mouse button for hack enemy turrets and vehicles as well computers from distance, spacebar twice midair for fly with grav boots, Left shift button for build tesla turrets, E button for equip electromagneic gauntlet, left alt button for summons Tentomon, Q for biomerges with HerculesKabuterimon(if this used without summoning Tentomon first, he uses EMP)

  18. Mimi: Left mouse button for plant manipulation powers, Right mouse button for Shield from her Geokinesis, left shift button for build walls with earth manipulation, left alt button for summons Palmon, Q for biomerges with Rosemon(if this used without summoning Palmon first, she grows "Tree of Life")

  19. Joe: Left mouse button for shoots water, Right mouse for heal teammates, Left Alt for summons Gomamon, Q for biomerges with Vikemon(if this used without summoning Gomamon first, he called "Healing rain")

  20. Takeru: left mouse button for time stops specific targets, Right mouse button for Superfast melee attacks, Mouse wheels to choose either selective time-stop as well Hexing enemies, Left Shift button for Blink, E button for recall, left alt for summons patamon, Q button for biomerges with Magnaangemon(if this used without summoning Patamon first, he stops time). enemy shots are less accurate against him

  21. Hikari: Left mouse button for cast photokinetic and psychic powers, Right mouse button for mind-control enemies or telekinetically move things, spacebar twice when she's midair for fly, Left alt for summons Gatomon, Q button for biomerges with Ophanimon(if this used without summoning Gatomon first, she unleashes Psychic Storm). 50%-75% of her HP is barrier

  22. Recca: left mouse button to shoot fireballs, right mouse button to melee attacks, Left shift for teleport with Rui, E for deflecting enemy attacks with Saiha's flame sword, and Q for Resshin

  23. Domon: Left mouse button for punches, Left shift for Kuchibashio, Right mouse button to use Dosei no Wa, E for block, and Q for Tetsugan

  24. Fuko: Left mouse Button for throwing Darts, right mouse button her aerokinesis, mouse wheels for her specific aerokinetic powers, Left Shift for Shitsu, E for uses Shiryou shintou, and Q for Fuujin tornado

  25. Mikagami: Left mouse button for sword attacks, Right mouse button to shot Ice, Left shift for Mizunaru Hebi, E for deflect enemy attacks, and Q for Zettai Reido

  26. Koganei: Left mouse button for melee attacks with Kougon anki, left shifts for Naginata, Mouse wheels to switch between Kougon anki forms, E for deflecting enemy attacks, and Q for Mu

  27. Isami: Left mouse button for dragon sword, Left shift to turns into Shinsengumi(confers enhanced stats)

  28. Soshi: left mouse button to shoots Dragon's arrow, Left shift to turns into Shinsengumi(confers enhanced stats)

  29. Toshi: Left mouse button to shoots Dragon's eyeball, Left shift to turns into Shinsengumi(confers enhanced stats)

 

other than those stated here in this thread, this was same with proposed Doom WAD/mod idea I linked here

Between these two OPs, there are thousands of words, yet I barely know what your mod even is. Most of this stuff belongs in a private design document. When you are presenting an idea, focus more on the 'big picture'. These OPs are like if someone were pitching a movie, but instead of talking about the plot or premise, they listed all of the sandwiches the characters would eat.

6) Your post is unclear - are you going to make this yourself or are you asking the community to make it? What contributions, if any, will you make?

 

7) I could be wrong on this one, but the subject matter and the gameplay implied by this project will not appeal to the majority of doomers, especially true of "Doomworlders" who oftentimes prefer the more vanilla approach to modifying doom over the ZDoom way.

 

If you're dead serious about this project.... Type less, produce more. Very few will be interested in the project if you have no physical evidence of it's production to show off.

 

  1. what if, every fanworks in existence fell victim to Cease and Desist?
  2. try to avoid characters(playable ones) from being frankensprites, unless for very last resort
  3. we'll drop multiplayer modes that Classic doom engine can't support
  4. ok
  5. Coop Campaign are same with Single Player campaign
  6. either asking this community to make this, I'll contribute if this community to cover anything beyond their abilities

A lot of them do fall victim to cease and desist, especially stuff that belongs to nintendo's licenses, so you're already going to get fucked right there with the pokemon stuff you have planned. I'm also already dying to see how much EA is going to love your idea of including Tiberium.

Look, here's how this works: You want something done, you do it yourself and ask for help when something is beyond your abilities, not the other way around. It's not the community's "job" to build you a mod how you want.

 

 

Have you even made a single playable classic doom map yet? Or... just anything that is on your list that works for example in GZDoom? If the answer is "no", don't expect anyone to step up and invest their time here, because it ain't happening unless you're putting in actual effort yourself.

it's so absurdly ambitious that you'll never get close to completing it (and the community sure as hell isn't gonna do it for you for free);

and even if somehow it got released, it will get C&D'd anyway, and in the interim nobody's gonna play it, except maybe to mock it on YouTube.

 

If you wanna be a Doom modder, start with something much less ambitious, and something you'll actually be able to complete.

Masanicon i know the advice you've been given here is harsh but it's for the best if you scale back your projects and focus on getting something playable done. take the work of Amuscaria for example. a very skillful artist who started out strong and only became better but whose projects still took many years to finish

that's why I keep on eye on working on my project where this Doom WAD was based after(as something other than Game mods)
