Doom E1M1 0:09 NM-Speed Run

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. This is my first post, so if I'm posting in the wrong section please forgive me ;-;

IWAD:      doom.wad (from Doom 3: BFG Edition)
Port used: Chocolate Doom V3.0.0
Level:      E1M1 (Hangar)
Skill:     5 (Nightmare!)
Category:  Nightmare Speed
Exe:       chocolate-doom.exe

Time:      0:09

I've been trying to upload this for a looong while. It was really painful to get a Demo of the run. I used both the BFG Edition port and its WAD for my runs, but it was pretty much useless. It took me some time to finally get a port that ran as decently as the BFG Edition does (I've tried others and their controls are "stiffer" in my opinion) but that also had the capability of recording demos. Once I started getting 9s on ITYTD, it didn't take many attemps to finally get that time on Nightmare, neither did it take many attempts. I'm really happy for my accomplishment.

Also, no, I don't know how to use SR50 yet.

Welcome to the forums!

As you may have noticed there are several threads for posting demos, doom1 or ultimate doom demos should be posted here:

https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/55560-ultimate-doom-demos-complevel-3/

Another thing is naming convention, I'd recommend just looking at what other people have named their demos (you can find demos at https://dsdarchive.com/) and following that, so for example doom 1 e1m1 nightmare in 9 seconds would be n1m1-009 or e1m1n009, so you name your txt,lmp and zip file the same (and don't put folders within the zip). It's probably fine to put your name on the zip though if you have tied a time, like n1m1-009-Alaux.zip, because zips need to have different name, but you don't need to worry about that.

more information can be found in the pinned thread: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic/18410-welcome-to-the-demos-forum-prboom-plus-usage-wad-and-irc-links-general-info/

Cool demo and good luck with future demo recording :)
