Outskirts - An abandoned Doom 1 mappack.

Hello there.

 

Outskirts is an unfinished Doom 1 Episode that I started somewhere around february and abandoned at about early july. It features new textures, 7 new levels (3 of them unfinished) and music by James Paddock, David Shaw, Robert Prince and Monolith Productions. (see CREDITS.txt)

I abandoned due to my lack of inspiration, and honestly I was just tired of working on it.

However, since I don't want to feel like I wasted about half a year of my life, I'm releasing it here for you to "enjoy"!

Screenshots give the feeling of running around outside all the bases and complexes of episode 1 where you're not allowed to be!   Doomguy's already been court-martialed once I think.

You know what, this was not bad at all. It's a great start. It kinda reminds me a bit of Pcorf's Ultimate Doom megawad, 2002: A Doom Odyssey.

 

It's too bad this did not get finished. I hope you would at least finish one full episode. I hope you can continue this project one day.

I haven’t played it yet, but from my point of view of the mapper, I'll say from the screenshots that this is a good work with lighting and connectivity.
