Scythe 2 run error

Recommended Posts

I can't run Scythe 2 with Chocolate Doom 3.0.0 and DOOM2.WAD (14604584 bytes):

W_CacheLumpNum: 1313485 >= numlumps

Scythe is working fine on this configuration.

Scythe 2 is a limit-removing wad rather than a vanilla wad.

Except for that one action 221 switch in map32 which only works in Boom or GZDoom.

And? How can I run it?

By not using Chocolate Doom. Crispy, PRBoom/GLBoom, GZDoom, etc.

So even Crispy is not enough to complete map32?

Yes. Though pistol starting the entire map again isn't that bad.

I remember being able to complete the map fine in -complevel 2 using PRBoom+. That one Boom switch lowers a shortcut but is not necessary to UV-Max the map.

@GCRaistlin If you like the vanilla feel, i recommend you to switch to Doom Retro, it plays everything up to Boom compatible and MBF, so practically, you can play all the works of the community (Yes, from Memento Mori, Icarus, Eternal Doom, Alien Vendetta, to Eviternity, SunLust, Ancient Aliens, Valiant, Struggle, Preacher, you name it) except some zdoom specifics (Winter's Fury, Cold as Hell, Brutal Doom with Extermination Day, almost every other gameplay mod out there, Adventures of Square) and/or other engine specifics like Doom64TC: Absolution for Doomsday, or Caverns of Darknes with it own COD Engine only compatible with GZDoom thanks to Graf Zhal.
