level design thread

Recommended Posts

For the aesthetics, I recommend opening with doom builder the original doom wad or doom 2 wad and just taking a stroll there and seeing how they make doors, how they make rooms, what they do with textures, and ceiling heights...

When you make a door or an elevator, you gotta remember clicking the line that opens the door and checking "REPEATABLE ACTION", and clicking the lines that surround the door and clicking "LOWER UNPEGGED", and "UPPER UNPEGGED".

I also recommend googling "John Romero's Level design rules". Maybe you can learn a thing or two from there.

If you want, for the encounter design, you can pass me your next wad before releasing it, and i could do some playtesting :)
