PeceMan Posted December 17, 2019 Well you managed to make a wad with a start and finish, and publish, so i guess that is something I made a demo of it, btw babys first (decent) doom wad.rar You already have the ingredients to make a great level. You just gotta improve your cooking. 0 Share this post Link to post
PeceMan Posted December 17, 2019 Mainly what you need to work on, is your aesthetics, and encounter design. 0 Share this post Link to post
PeceMan Posted December 17, 2019 For the aesthetics, I recommend opening with doom builder the original doom wad or doom 2 wad and just taking a stroll there and seeing how they make doors, how they make rooms, what they do with textures, and ceiling heights... When you make a door or an elevator, you gotta remember clicking the line that opens the door and checking "REPEATABLE ACTION", and clicking the lines that surround the door and clicking "LOWER UNPEGGED", and "UPPER UNPEGGED". I also recommend googling "John Romero's Level design rules". Maybe you can learn a thing or two from there. 0 Share this post Link to post
PeceMan Posted December 17, 2019 If you want, for the encounter design, you can pass me your next wad before releasing it, and i could do some playtesting :) 0 Share this post Link to post
