As an experiment is good, if the narrative is that no matter what you do, you never gonna reach your desire, it could be achieved in better way, but as an experiment it works. Aside from that, for more juice to the experience, you should try adding more details, like corpses, bloodsplats, a door, destroyed things, anything you could imagine that will enhance the experience surely will be good.

But when i read the last part, everything comes to be as ever.
After you reached you inmost desire... nothing is accomplished.
