What did you get for christmas in 2019?

Same here. Close friend of mine and her husband bought me a Corryvreckan. I've already had one earlier this year, and I really liked it, so this was certainly a nice surprise. My wife on the other hand bought me an Octomore 08.1, which I didn't dare touch yet. I'll keep that for a special occasion, because I hear it's quite punchy and demands a fair bit of attention, can already see that bottle lasting me like half a year or something.

I’ve had the Corryvreckan before and loved it so my wife got the Uigeadial for Christmas and I might have bought the ten year for myself as it was on offer in the supermarket (also getting a bonus from my old job helped). 

I think I’ve tried a glass of one of the Octomores in Edinburgh a couple of years ago, a friend of mine bough it, curious as to how far my liking of peaty malts went. If you are into that smokey/peat flavour then I think you will enjoy it.

Honestly, it was the chance to meet new family (my aunt's partner's family). I got no gifts worth mentioning and that didn't matter one bit to me, having a nice time and not being miserable which I was for the last number of years in December was the best thing I ever got for Christmas. 

 

And I wouldn't say such schmaltz unless I really really mean it.
