Recommended Posts

Just wondering what everyone's favorite midis are, whether it be from a megawad or elsewhere.

Sign of Evil and The Demon's Dead

At least for me these are the two best midis of the game . They share the 1st place in my list .

If it's Doom/Doom 2, then that would be Sign of Evil/Waiting for Romero to play.

If it's any WAD.... I'll have to go with BTSX's.

From Doom 1, I'd probably say I Sawed the Demons, and from Doom 2 it's The Demon's Dead. The latter does a great job of heightening the lonely and unnerving atmosphere of MAP16 Suburbs.

Though, from Doom 2, I'd also say The Healer Stalks.

2002ado had some of the best music I'm heard in a Doom wad, especially E1M8, E2M1, E3M1, E3M7, and E3M8.

The text screen music from Doom 1 and 2 are both also horribly underrated.

Hell Revealed 2 also had some great music. MAP15 and MAP29 stand out for me the most.

I Sawed the Demons has always been my personal favorite from the IWADs followed by Message for the Archvile.  As for PWADs, pretty much all of Ancient Aliens and BTSX midis.

I forgot to mention this, too, my favorite midi ost for a mapset is Memento Mori 2. Some of the maps in that megawad may not be the best, but the music is the best imo

Doom: Untitled (E3M1)

Doom II: Into Sandy’s City

TNT: Into the Beast’s Belly

Custom: Extradimensional Beings - CoTeCiO (D64D2 Map01)

Into Sandy’s City is definitely my favorite overall. I freaking love that song and wished they’d used it more in Doom II.

Extradimensional Beings is also perfection. The moment I heard it I fell in love. It was rocking, mysterious, and somehow familiar in all the right ways. I can’t find a link to the actual midi but here’s a cover of it:

Ohhhh. Too hard to choose tbh so i'll just put some names down.

Obviously anything by Robert Prince. Also Mark Klem is another of my favorites. I often listen to the Cringe! and MM ost's. Jimmy is great as well. I mean, he was chosen by John Romero do the MIDI version of SIGIL for a reason ;)

I uploaded this a little while ago just incase people wanted to listen to it. It's just using the Creative Labs 4M GM soundfont so nothing fancy.

I've always been partial to Requiem and Memento Mori 1 and 2 soundtrack, especially MAP26's song from MM2.
