Giant Feet

I recently gave Freedoom a try and the design of the humanoid enemies looks kind of goofy.

Why do they have giant bubble feet? I don't mind the more alien direction of most of the other monsters but the way the former humans look stands out like a sore thumb.

I have always seen them having robotic feet. Also in Megaman game series, robots have similar giant bubble feet.

Yes "goofy" is the word, never liked those sprites myself.

I never noticed it and now I don't think I'll ever unsee it, even if they are changed, I will remember.

Once at a punk show just over ten years ago, a few younger punks had these huge bubble shoes just like this!   Never saw them before and never saw them again.   Otherwise seemed like straight punk.   They weren't emo or anything.
