Or.. am I the only one who was imagining imps and cacodemons coming out behind blasted earth as the protagonists creeped along war torn country? I think it'd be hella cool if some talented Doomers were to make a doom mod that tried to replicate the film and its progression as closely as possible, utilizing a palette to match the movie's sumptuous visuals, replacing soldiers with zombiemen and adding imps and cacodemons (and maybe an army of barons of hell at the end or something).

I've not seen the film yet but I have been wanting to do a WW1 style TC, though lacking any practical artistic ability I doubt I'll ever get around to it

A war trench doom level could be something i might attempt, havent seen the movie yet.

Yeah, that would be really good.  Especially the ruined city.  A full megawad might be too much, but a small 6 - 10 map pack would work nicely.
