Extra sprite animations for strafe movement?

Sourceport: GZDoom.


To make my question easier to understand, here goes some reference. Do you remember old Road Rash games? When you're "strafing" (going left/right), you see that player sprites also changes with position&direction.


Is it possible to make such thing in Doom?

With GZDoom, yeah,  you can use ZScript to change player state (and therefore sprite) based on player input.
