GzDoom distorted

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I just downloaded the latest version of GzDoom. When starting the game (Doom or Doom 2) all the colors are distorted.

Anyone knows why and/or how to fix that?

Whoa what the hell. Never seen that before. It's like cotton candy mode. It almost looks like a palette mod or something.

Only suggestion I have is to try changing renderers. Does it happen with Vulkan or OpenGL? Does software mode look correct?

What's your GPU/CPU? Drivers updated recently?

Could try other versions of GZDoom to see if it still happens there.

The colors look inverted to me:

In GZdoom, go to Options -> Display Options -> Saturation

Check the value at Saturation slider. It should be at 1.0 by default. If the value of saturation is already at 1.0, try setting it to -1.0 (minus 1.0) and see how the game looks then.

The worst kind of cotton candy, i'd say.

tried with Vulkan as well but same thing. my pc (laptop) is quite run down now but should not cause this. The older version of GZ didn't work at all to launch, unfortunatly. But thinking about redoing the install of the new one and see if maybe that helps.

It's the sat setting - put to 0

I had no idea saturation could look like that. I thought lower saturation = black and white?

Its inverted saturation - it'll black and white at like 0.5 or whatever numbers close to and including 0
