Doesn't Exist???

Question

According to the editor, the ImpRocket doesn't exist in the RocketImp.wad, even though it is actually there!

I've took screenshots of the error, and the apparent lines in the DECORATE and GLDEFS that's causing it. I can't see anything wrong unless I'm missing something. The Imp Rocket is the projectile it shoots out. I can't put an ED number in the rocket otherwise a launched rocket will be floating stationary on midair.

Help please?

The thing is, that without a DoomED number the editor does not know about the ImpRocket.

The DoomED number is assigned manually, use Slade3, and must be unique.

For example:

Actor ImpRocket 19001

Then in Things Mode, under User Defined (assuming that you are using a DB family editor), select the ImpRocket.

But the ImpRocket is what the Rocket Imp fires at the player. So by giving it a number, it will appear in the GZDoom Builder as a item, monster, weapon, or whatever. It's like giving a bullet it's own ED when it doesn't technically need it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

So, the parent monster is ACTOR RocketImp //20128.

Delete the forward slashes and you should be good to go.

Did that and it still won't work. I don't know who Skelegant is (according to the file, that person made the Rocket Imp) otherwise I would ask them directly.

I created a testing arena for trying things out so I'll use that map.

Also had the same trouble with the following too;

Roach (monster)

DRPG Ghoul (monster)

Core Tentacles (monster)

EMS Rifle (weapon)

I'll try the same thing with the Rocket Imp tip you told me, and try them out one at a time before adding them to my wad/mod.

Thanks
